Amazon Survival Tips
- So many fish and only one bow, yikes… The good news is that you’re shooting a RazorTec. The bad news is that you have hundreds of fish wanting to eat you for dinner. So here’s tip to help you survive. Use your bow to shoot near hostile species to scare them momentarily as you slip past.
- If you suspect an ambush from a brushy narrows, shoot an arrow into the weeds to hopefully clear any waiting threats.
- Keep in mind that you can only arrow one fish from an attacking school and the others may regroup after your shot to resume their attack. So plan accordingly to save your hide.
- Gators are big fighters and can tie you up while others attack. So if several gators are coming for you, don’t shoot one, scare the closest one by shooting near it then reel in quickly to defend yourself again.
Tournament Play Tips
- Bowfishing arrows weight over 1000 grains, so you’ll notice the arch in archery with your arrow. Use this to your advantage on distant fish. With practice, you will actually be able to lob arrows down onto hard to get species.
- Some species have super fast reactions, and will try to dodge your arrow. Anticipate their movements and shoot slightly in front of their nose so they swim into your arrow’s trajectory.
- You bow is the key tool for your success, but use it in sync with your boat motors and logic to reduce setup time on shooting fish. When the tournament clock is ticking, seconds can make the difference in the winner’s listings.
- In Grand Tournament modes, concentrate on fish species that offer the best blend of school size, shooting location, fight duration and weight per fish. Good luck, sharpshooter.
- At Hoyt we encourage you to use your bow with common sense and responsibly. So avoid harming protected species and other creatures that are not part of your tournament tally. Some species such as those in the remote tropical isle world are legal in the game, but learn and know your local fish and game laws out there in the real worlds of archery adventure.
